Losing a battle

Christmas is coming. One of the two most important and wondrous anniversaries of the year. I've passed other anniversaries (a few weeks ago I passed the two year mark of living in my condo), and others are coming up (in March my cats turn 2). But this is the one that we all enjoy, that some of us fight for (happy holidays, indeed) to preserve its name and reason. Some battles are worth fighting.

Other battles obviously are meant to be lost. Like the one that Mr. Knightley is winning here. I gues his watching me from his perch in front of my warm toaster oven is better than his watching me from his perch on my shoulder. Especially when I don't have the benefit of a specially designed reinforced shoulder pad (David Weber fans should catch the reference and my train of thought).

That's all for now, folks. Here's my chance to wish all of you a Happy Christmas, with all the joy that the first Christmas brought to some weary shepherds on a lonely hill.

Yeah you posted! Great shot of Mr. Knightley. It is a difficult thing indeed to get between a cat and a warm place (especially if it's also a vantage point). Ah well.

Merry Christmas! I hope you crazy week of Christmas show -ing went well.

I definitely appreciate the David Weber comment, that piece of equipment could come in very handy for you, considering how often your black cat jumps up on you! See you over the Christmas holidays. LOTR marathon - yeah!!!

Thanks for the comments, mirthers! Yes, I finally posted. I couldn't let Kendra get too far ahead of me, now could I?

I am indeed looking forward to Christmas, and now that our show is over, I have been in full Christmas-prep mode. Tomorrow I'm planning on blitzing through gift-wrapping and baking a couple of batches of goodies. Joy!

Ok, I read your blog, and read it again, and still couldn't figure out what wto was. I asked Claire if it was some type of internet abbreviation that I just couldn't figure out, and she looked at it for two seconds and said, "no, it's suppose to be 'two', not some weird kind of abbreviation." So I feel better knowing that I am not being left out of the loop. Anyways, it was kinda funny cause I just couldn't figure it out and Claire took two seconds, of course she is an editor, so it makes sense that she recognizes these things. Not to make a big deal of your typo, but it was an amusing interlude in my evening.
Bye for now, Kendra
PS - I bought you a Christmas present today, and you will never guess what it is! Tee Hee. (I am serious though, I doubt you could guess.)It isn't a gift certificate either.

I was just thinking yesterday (shocking!) that it was pretty darn cool that God sent angels to shepherds to help celebrate.

Ok, ok, I'll fix the typo. It's not the end of the world. Kudos to Claire for spotting it!

Merry Christmassing to all!

Kendra, I'll be wrapping your gift tonight, and I bet you can't guess what it is either, so there.

Colleen, yours is on the way. For some reason the post office wouldn't promise me pre-Christmas delivery to Yellowknife when I brought your package in yesterday. You'd think you lived at the end of the world!

Claire, Amanda, I hope I get to see you soon!

Ooooo! And YAY! And also I will just have to postpone Christmas. We're closer to you than most places. Egads, I say to you!

And did I say YAY! already? How about a stupendous WOOP?

I think you got Kendra a ... paper clip dispenser replete with clips a'plenty. And Kendra got you a small but precious stone from the River Nile.

And you know what? I'm gonna go. Because I'm trying to be funny and it's really not working. But I do know that I'm missing you at this very moment and wish I could see you just a little more often than the almost never that it is. Alas, I'm in a sentimental mood. Grrr. I shall dance thrice around cheese and laugh at sadness and imagine you with me.

Love OH love,
Colleen

MEWWY CHWITHMATH!

(And just in case my lisp seemed sacreligious ...)

a happy and holy Christmas to a very loved you.

Colleen-girl, you always have a way of inserting a bit of cheer, and aaaah, and happiness, and "somebody loves me!" into my day. Thanks for your comments, and yes, I did laugh, especially at the dancing con cheese bit.

Your gift guesses were sooooo close, too! Ok, I am not being entirely truthful. But apart from the paper clip part and the dispenser part, you guessed it completely!

Love you forever, my friend!

I'm laughing aloud here. Your rock the world. Okay, it's true and someone had to tell you and that someone had to be ...

... me - YOU ROCK THE WORLD. Hello, Anonymous here. Colleen said "your rock the world" and I had to laugh because Colleen can't spell worth a darn. She's great though. She calls me Nonners but that's just because we're close.
